HP PSC 750 Scanner Driver Can't find a driver for your HP PSC 750? VueScan is here to help. VueScan keeps my HP scanner operating with each new Mac OS version that comes around. Boo for HP - Kudos for VueScan! — Greg Beale in Columbus, Ohio, USA. This application always works. Plenty of features for any scanner out there.
This document is for HP printers that have drivers available through Apple Software Update and Mac computers.
Before installing the software, turn on the printer and make sure it is connected to the computer you want to print or scan from, either with a USB cable or through your local Wi-Fi or wired network.
Visit 123.hp.com to download the latest HP software for your printer.

On iOS and macOS, most HP printers work with Apple AirPrint to provide full-quality printing without the need to download or install drivers. For additional functionality, please download the HP Smart app from the App Store for iPhone and iPad or the Mac App Store.
After looking on this forum I followed the advice of installing one of HP drivers for the old operating systems and it seems to have worked. ( http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=219&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&produc t=57769&lang=en) - just go to hp site and find your printer model.
Things I've tried before, unsuccessfully:
Installed printer with Gutenprint v.5.2.3 driver and although I could print, there were several problems:
1. I always had a problem connecting to the printer, getting a message 'waiting for printer to become available.' This was solved when I simply unplugged and plugged back in my USB cord that connects the printer.
2. In the middle of printing, my printer decided to print some random characters, breaking apart pages and messing up at least a page in the whole print job. When you're printing 20-40 pages at a time, it's annoying. This feature also made it very frustrating to print double sided ( you can do this in PDF documents by printing odd pages only, and then turn over the stack of paper and print even pages only).
3. The computer did recognize the scanner and made it available to other applications, but again the same connection problem persisted.
I also downloaded the recommended HP software for my printer, to manage it better. After working in this set-up for a few months, one day, the printer just froze - stopped communicating with the computer and all attempts to scan or print ended up in me force-quitting applications.
That's when I deleted the HP software and downloaded the old HP drivers, and was surprised to notice that the printing occurred a lot faster and without a connection problem. The scanner unfortunately, is not recognized by the system at all, so I can't import directly from an application.
The HP software however, allows me to set up special scanning settings that will open the scanned image in whatever format in whatever application (I even have the option of skipping scan preview.), which makes this an attractive set-up.
My only frustration so far is the page size of the scan - it doesn't automatically recognize a letter-sized page, and thus I have to manually adjust the cropping and image size to get it right. But it does automatically assign the object a print output setting of an 8.5x11 page.
I installed this just recently, so the jury is still out on how stable this will be. However, based on my experience with Windows, HP drivers (as opposed to Apple drivers) are very stable. Hence, when I switched to a Mac, I was very (unpleasantly) surprised with these printing problems.
Hope this helps anyone out there - I know looking through your posts helped me!
