Hi,

Dec 05, 2015  Sony Vaio VGN-AR730E-Bulit-in keyboard not responding after upgrade to Windows 10. I tried uninstalling keyboard driver, installing Lenovo and Microsoft ps2 keyboard drivers but nothing works. Keyboard is working in Windows Vista and Windows 7.

This issue may arise due to driver conflicts.

I suggest you to run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter and check if it helps.

1. Type troubleshooting in the search bar.
2. Select Troubleshooting.
3. Select View all on the top left corner.
4. Clickon Hardware and Devices.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.
6. Check if issue persists.

If the issue persists, I suggest you to update chipset drivers from the computer manufacturer's website and check the issue.

I was able to fix the keyboard problem by uninstalling the synaptic trackpad driver for Windows 10 that gets installed by Windows update. Once you uninstall this driver and reboot keyboard starts working again. This driver probably interferes with original i8042prt.sys driver for ps/2 keyboard. On top of that you have to prevent that windows 10 driver from getting installed again. If it gets installed again, keyboard stops functioning again. I chose the option to not install the hardware driver form Microsoft update until this problem is fixed
