Hi All,
I recently gained a Dell Poweredge T320 (my Dad's company no longer needed it). Its the 2015 version, quad core Xeon with 8GB RAM and 4x1TB HDD. I literally have no idea where to start with this.
Its got Windows Server 2012 R2 on it which is very different to the Windows that I know, I wanna try and set up some sort of NAS on it, and maybe run a game server for me and my friends. Any pointers on how to get started?
I think 2x1TB are in RAID 5 but I'm not sure. I got about as far as doing the final install for the OS and I am lost about where to go from here. Any other uses for this server are welcome. For the functions I want it to perform, would a desktop OS be more suited? I have an spare SSD with windows 7 on it that could work. All in all I have never touched a server before in my life but I am keen to learn more about it! Let me know if you need any more information and I'll try my best to get it.
Thanks in advance!
